I started riding about the time I turned 40, thinking if I was ever
going to achieve my dream, I had better get started.
The first horse was a lovely AQHA dun gelding, but WAAAYYY too much horse for me. I ended up in 1991 with a broken arm, concussion (with a helmet), nerve damage to my hip, and lots of bruises. The next horse was a "been there, done that" working cow horse. He and I have been together for 16
years and at almost 23 years old, he's still going strong. Caleb, in
the photo, is a percheron/paint cross gelding, PMU baby, and 5 years old now.
This year, I have begun to work on cantering (on purpose) on a
great Arabian school horse and am starting to overcome some of my fears.
