I'v always loved horses! Ever since I was a little girl I have always had horses (or ponies) in my life. I started riding at the age of 5 western pleasure. Once I was comfortable(at the age of 7) my cousin started me riding huntseat on her morgan mare. I continued my love of horses (and affording the cost of riding) by working at a couple of local stables as a stable hand at the age of 12. One of the stables had standardbred horses. This is where I learned about working around stallions and had my second experience training. (My first training experience was training my cousin's pony a year prior) Two years later I worked at a local dressage stable as a stable hand. And later that year I got my first horse at 14. My first horse was a rocky mountain mare who was about 6 or 7 mos old when I got her! I trained her for saddle seat (with out the double bits!). I owned her for a year then sold her when I had lost interest. (I kick myself now!) So here I am a little over 10 years later, and a bad fall off of a 7 year old apendix qh, with another baby horse. His name is Chance. I found him on line when he was 11 mos old and still a colt. I did not plan on buying another baby, or a "as nature intended colt" for that fact. Well Chance came home with me in May 2007. He was under weight and had not been treated the best. So here I am almost a year later with a "gelded" Chance that has put on major weight and become quite the "loverboy" to all who meet him. I am currently in the process of training him for local shows and might attempt a first ride on him later this year. (We'll see how the training goes before I get in the saddle for the first time.)
