You all know me as Poeta. I have studied bitless training techniques since the age of 9 under numerous trainers; specializing in working with "difficult" horses. As the years pass, I am finding I don't bounce like I used to. For this reason a recent disastrous ride with a reactive mare has shaken me into realizing risks that used to not overwhelm me. The silver-lining is, I now have a greater appreciation for how vulnerable my clients feel. Amazingly, the most compassionate and helpful folks I have met in rebuilding my confidence have been the folks here, many of whom consider themselves amateurs.
