Hey All!

I haven't posted for a while but I still working on my horse recovery program. It's been a year since my accident (the anniversay date sure brings back alot of memories). My leg has healed quite nicely from the skin graft and is alot less painful that it was for the last year. Better every day.

I've been reading some of the posts and find everyone so inpsirational.Maybe we are all horse angels LOL!!!

I have been riding since my accident - in the arena this winter and now a few rides outside with my old guy who I trust with my life.

It was really weird, I had ridden in the stable all winter but the first ride out in the WILD was pretty scary. Everytime I ride it gets a bit less stressful. But I am only walking with a little bit of trotting.

Tonight was great we went out back in the field and wandered around. It was my longest and farther ride so far.

The idea I saw that I totally agree with was on the post where the lady got an injury in the face. And that's do it 100 or 1000 times until it is boring! I read the same thing somewhere else about the fear. It said do the same thing until you are so bored. Then try another step. Anyways keep it all up guys!!!! I'm taking it slow and getting there one hoof step at a time...

Welcome back. Bow we are sure a bunch of walking-wounded, aren't we? If we put all our injuries together, we would be an orthopedic surgeon's dream.

I'm glad you have been reading the posts and getting encouragement. There are so many good ideas. However, there are so many new people with the same issues, that I wish we could almost have some "reference pages" for the same repeated issues like: Tips for Overcoming Fear, Leadership/respect, Taming the Trail Monsters. Then we could just reference people to those pages. But I don't know anything about how web sites and discussion boards like this are set up.
It's just that there are so many wonderful tips and ideas out there, but they have to be repeated so many times. Oh well, that's my idea, at least. :)

And a great one it is, DixieMom!

Like you, I don't know if it is possible or not, but it sure would be helpful. How many times have we said - take baby steps, for instance?

There are quite a few times any more when new people post and I don't respond because I feel I would be constantly repeating myself. Then, I feel bad because I didn't respond to their query.

Ditto. I wonder if Jennifer could help us. I'll e-mail her. I want to be encouraging, but I think I start sounding like a broken record. And then there are the phony lurkers who sometimes come up with a wild story that is totally impossible and try to ask for advice. It's probably one of our husbands just messing with us! Of course when pressed for details that they would actually have to know if their situation was true, they never write back! Ha!
