Hello friends,

Been a long time and I have missed catching up with what everyone is doing ! I still have my Jake but he has been at a trainers for 2 months. He will be coming home soon. My daughter's 1st pony Cheyenne passed away in March 09. Since then we have acquired 2 new horses. My mare, Willow, 15 year old QH and my daughters new pony, Powder, 12 year old Welsh/POA gelding. They are great ! They have built up our confidence to heights I never thought we could go. Just the other day I cantered for the 1st time in 25 years ! OK ? I felt like I was flying ! Did I mention I just love my mare ?
Wow, all the DVD's and time spent learning and taking lessons could not teach me what this mare did in less than 2 months ! Now I am hoping this new found confidence can transfer over to my Jake who has been W/T/C/G, trail ridden, had various riders, been jumped 2 feet and had lots of exposure to new sights and sounds. Just last week he jumped over a doe giving birth on the trail. Yikes ! His trainer says he was surprised and his eyeballs got huge and that he snorted but that was it !

Here's some recent pics !

Do you mean my daughter's pony ? The pink roan pony ? He is 12 years old. He is the sweetest little fella and he is teaching her so much. She can now trot with confidence and just Saturday she hopped on and rode him bareback and bridleless in the paddock. He is a very trustworthy pony.

What progress! I too have been absent for some time. It is important to realize that a good horse can give tons confidence. I am so happy for you!

Welcome back you two! It's true the "right" horse can teach you so much. I'm glad you're having fun again.

Thanks for the warm welcome back horsey friends ! Jake has come back home, the herd dynamics have dies down and everyone is doing well. I have not rode Jake yet. I know I will and I know when the time is right I will just know. In the meantime Willow and I are having a ball and I am getting more experience in the saddle. I also have been riding my daughter's pony bareback to get the feel of a different horse so that I don't get too used to riding only Willow. My dream would be to ride all three. Funny how dreams change and evolve, it wasn't that long ago my dream was to ride a horse without feeling nauseated ! LOL That dream has come true, then my dream was to trail ride and I am doing that now. No words can describe what a good horse can teach us. They are worth more than their weight in gold ! Ride on !
