Hi, guys! :o)

Yes, I do still lurk from time to time, but I haven't been posting much. Been REALLY busy! Red's doing great. He just got his shots on Monday, and he had his teeth floated and his sheath cleaned . . . fun times!!! ;op

Great to hear that you and Red are doing well! Do let us know how you're doing from time to time.

Sheath cleaning....I did that last week-end!

Have a great 4th!

Must have been the week for the "spa treatment". We have mares, so no sheath cleaning, but we did have both of their teeth done.

Happy 4th to all!

LOL! Yes, Red is quite the little punk when it comes to getting his sheath cleaned. I tried to do it myself on two occasions not long after I got him, and it did NOT go well! I decided that, for my safety and his, it would be best to just wait until he's sedated for his dental exam and let the vet take care of it at that time. Works like a charm! ;oD

It's so funny . . . he was fine for getting his teeth cleaned, fine for having his shots, and a total TERROR when they started cleaning his sheath! They had to back him into the corner of his stall, and the vet held him while his assistant "did the deed." Well, Red kept kicking the stall walls and at one point he actually stepped on the vet's assistant! Remember, this is all while he was under sedation! :oO

Of course, I kinda get where he's coming from. It can't be a pleasant experience, I'm sure! I mean, after all, I know how much I hate going to the gyno for my annual check-up, and I guess it's kinda the same thing? :o/

Well....Snickers and my friend's gelding Jesse must be "dirty old horses" because they don't mind at all. They just let it all hang out and are almost lulled to sleep! They don't even mind when we stick the hose up there to really rinse out.

Hee hee hee! That's too funny! My friend has three geldings, and they're all the same way . . . it's just not a big deal to them at all. We should all be so lucky! ;o)
